At the 2013 Etchells World Championship, ISAF Vice-President George Andreadis was on form in Rosignano, Italy on Thursday but the Martian retains the overall lead. Sailing Efyra III, Andreadis was at the top of the fleet in both the races sailed, finishing second in the opening race of the day and ending on a high with a bullet in the second race to climb to third overall on the leaderboard. 'A very well organized event' Andreadis said at the end of the day 'it is important for sailing in Italy to have races in different venues from the usual ones. It is a very tough championship with so many good sailors, world and olympic champions.' In a warm summer day, once again a westerly wind blew over the race area allowing two more races to be completed with about eight knots for the first race, 12 knots dropping to six knots by the end of the day. In the first race of the day, James Howells (USA) crossed the finish line in first position, anyway the American Marvin Beckmann in still the leader of the overall results. European Champion Ante Razmilovich is now second overall tie on points with Andreadis. Racing resumes on Friday at 12:00 local time.
