2016 Edmond de Rothschild Spring Regatta - The Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club (RHKYC) will mark the end of its official sailing season this weekend with the Edmond de Rothschild Spring Regatta.
The event is open to entrants from all of Hong Kong's sailing clubs, and over 80 keelboats are expected to compete in ten classes. The Spring Regatta will feature three races over two days, with the winners announced immediately after racing at the Sunday evening prizegiving.
The Regatta forms the first part of the 2016 Edmond de Rothschild Regatta Series, which will be completed this coming September with the Edmond de Rothschild Autumn Regatta. The cumulative results of the events will be used to determine an overall series winner in each class.
The start line and courses will be set on the day by the Race Officer, Charlie Manzoni, his selection being influenced by wind and tidal conditions. On Saturday the Big Boat class starts the action at 1350hrs, while race two starts at 1110hrs on Sunday, with race three to follow as soon as possible.
