Applications for the prestigious 2014 Club Marine Australian Marine Industry Export and Superyacht Awards have now been judged with the announcement of the 2014 winners to be made at the ASMEX Conference gala dinner on Tuesday 20 May at Sanctuary Cove, Queensland.

Ian Murray, CEO, Australian Export Institute and Chairman of the judging panel said 'I judge a number of awards but have to say the quality of the applications and in particular the innovation category was impressive. The panel all commented on the way applications were prepared compared to previous years and felt this year’s awards were probably the most difficult to judge'

The Australian marine export and superyacht sector is a resilient industry. Over the past 5 years with some turbulent economic times and high Australian dollar the Australian marine industry business looked to diversify by excelling through entering other industry sectors, new marketing strategies and innovative techniques. Many businesses targeted the more lucrative commercial/defence sector with positive results.

The recent awards applications reflected an incredible standard of innovation, achievement and success across the industry.

Applicants for the 2014 Awards included Aurora Global logistics, AirBerth Boat Lifts, Alistair Murray, Arctic Steel, Australian Superyachts, Australian Superyacht Crew Recruitment & Training, Bray Management, Barz Optics, Donna Morris, FinScan, GME, Greencorp Marine, Imaginocean, Jeremy Spear, John Hogan, MagicEzy, Marcel Vaarzon Morel, Muir Winches Australia, M-Tech, Palm Products, P&W Marine Engineers, Richard Chapman, Captain Richard Morris, Rivergate Marina and Shipyard, Ronstan International, Sam Sorgiovanni, Silverstar Marine, Spear Green Design, SilverYachts, Steber International, Superior, Stephen Fisher & Vaarzon - Morel Solicitors.

MaryAnne Edwards, CEO, AIMEX & Superyacht Australia said 'These Awards provide a platform for recognition of Australia’s significant achievements. The awards showcase innovation, quality and excellence. With the high Australian dollar, high costs of manufacturing and a downturn in the global market innovation is one of the biggest competitive advantages Australian businesses have'.

The much anticipated awards ceremony will be announced at the gala dinner to be hosted on May 20 May during the ASMEX conference at the InterContinental Resort (formerly Hyatt Regency) in Sanctuary Cove, Queensland. The awards dinner is the industry dinner of the year for the Australian marine export and superyacht industry. Featuring amazing entertainment, free flowing Robert Oatley signature wines and a 3 course meal, the gala dinner is set to be the perfect setting for a night where attendees can build on their industry networks.

Tickets to the gala dinner can be purchased online or by contacting AIMEX 03 9867 6625.
