by Richard Gladwell on 15 Sep 2013
Oracle Team USA v Emirates Team New Zealand. America’s Cup Day 5 San Francisco. Emirates Team NZ comes close to a capsize in Race 8 as Oracle Team USA avoids Richard Gladwell www.photosport.co.nz

Sail-World's Richard Gladwell was on the south-side of the course on San Francisco Bay, when Emirates Team NZ suffered a low pressure situation in her hydraulics while attempting to tack underneath Oracle Team USA, and almost capsizing.

In this sequence we show the start of the extreme situation, as it reaches close to the point of no-return, and then crashes back onto two hulls forcing Oracle Team USA to alter course to avoid.
