America’s Cup – the defining race

by Rob Kothe & the Sail-World Team on 29 Jun 2007 Tonight could be the defining race in the 32nd America’s Cup – will the faster boat or the better sailors win, in what our Sail-World NZL editor Richard Gladwell likes to call, the series between the first and second Kiwi crews.

Tonight's winner will be only two races from victory and the pressure will be building. While it does seem that Alinghi is the slightly faster boat, the start is critical, as is the weather call from Australian Roger 'Clouds' Badham and it only takes one error to change the race result.
