Emirates Team NZ have wound up a training session on the Solent, between the Isle of Wight and England, which will be the venue for the first ACWS Regatta in three weeks.
In this video, Sailing Director Glenn Ashby and helmsman, Peter Burling give a brief commentary on the sessions, where they have been able to line up against the British Challenger, Land Rover BAR.
The America's Cup World Series is the first regatta in the build up series starting on July 23rd, and consisting of one day of practice racing, and two days of fleet racing of two races per day.
It will be followed by the second round in Gothenburg, Sweden in late August, and the third round in Bermuda in mid-October.
Originally six to eight ACWS regattas per year were envisaged in the America's Cup Protocol.
According to the last publicly published Protocol, points from the America's Cup World Series will count towards the Qualifiers. The top boat from the full series will take two points into the Qualifiers, and the second boat a single point.
Six teams will compete in the ACWS - the Defender Oracle Team USA, and five Challengers - Emirates Team New Zealand, Softbank Team Japan, Land Rover BAR (GBR), Artemis Racing (SWE), and Groupama Team France.
