They can enjoy some classical music, warm clothes straight out of the drier and perhaps a video or two.
Other features of this 'serious cruising boat' include air conditioning in the aft cabin, washing machine, water maker, and all the latest in navigation and communication systems.
Tess and husband Geoff Gowing have sailed nearly 1,000 nautical miles from Adelaide to be part of the fleet heading north this Saturday for the 15th annual Sydney to Gold Coast Race.
They are one of two entries representing the Cruising Yacht Club of South Australia, of which Tess is the Commodore. 'Our Club is pretty progressive,' said Tess, a semi-retired investment company director.
The other South Australian entry is the regular Telstra Sydney to Hobart competitor Secret Mens Business (Geoff Boettcher), which is still making its way to Sydney for the start.
Tess McGrath has been sailing for over 25 years in both dinghies and keel boats. She raced Flying 15s competitively for more than 10 years and enjoyed many successes in this class.
She imported the German Frers-designed Leda from Finland in November last year and set about optimising and accessorising the Swan to make it the ultimate 'home away from home'.
While she has completed many long ocean passages, including a Sydney to Hobart Race, this will be Tess' first race to the Gold Coast.
After reaching the Gold Coast, the crew will keep heading north for the Hamilton Island regatta before they turn around and begin the long cruise home in time for the start of the summer series in Adelaide in October.
