Informa Yacht Group (IYG), the leading global yachting events organizer also behind the Monaco Yacht Show announced today that 80% of Abu Dhabi Yacht Show's (ADYS) 7,000 square meters of exhibition space has already sold out.

Due to take place from March 12-14 2009, ADYS will be the regional's first Super and Mega Yachts show and will introduce a new leisure 'Super' yacht concept to the rapidly developing luxury yacht market in the region.

'The exhibitors at the ADYS will have access to an exclusive clientele - those with both the means to invest in their products and the desire to enjoy the Gulf's modern marine culture,'said Franck Dailles, Group Director of ADYS.

'Abu Dhabi is an historic and well-established city with a rich and diverse culture,' added Dailles, 'and its superb location on the Gulf is an ideal platform for promoting the exclusivity, style and luxuriousness of the yachting experience expected by visitors at the show.'

The ADYS will be held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), one of the world's most modern show venues, and its 2.4-kilometer marina. The marina, with a 350-meter quay wall for stern mooring, capable of berthing at least 20 super yachts of 30 meters or more in length, is being constructed in a channel adjacent to ADNEC.

The marina zone is part of the final phase of ADNEC's $2.3bn Capital Center business and residential micro-city development which will have restaurants, shops, entertainment facilities and low-rise, sea-view marina homes.

The press release states that 'The ADYS is a unique yachting event serving to provide an excellent networking platform for top yachting professionals and high net worth individuals to do business in a convivial atmosphere. Over 70 exhibitors are currently signed, representing shipyards, naval architects, marina developers, yacht brokers, designers and yacht service companies from all over the world.'

The highlight of the event will be some of the world's most outstanding power super yachts. The ADYS will also feature an in-water exhibition, as well as 'top-class restaurants and elegant lounge areas for business and relaxation.'

The Headline Sponsor for the 2009 ADYS is the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA).
