29erXX Superbowl - Day 2, Nattrass (AUS) and Biehl (USA) hold lead

by Jerelyn Biehl on 3 Feb 2010
29erXX Seiko Superbowl, Miami, USA, 2010 29er
On the second day of the 29erXX Seiko Superbowl regatta, the predicted breeze of mid-teens never quite materialized, yet the Race Committee was able to complete 5 challenging races in the shifty 5-9 knot breezes of Biscayne Bay.

Three different teams were able to record wins in the days racing but the first day winners Hannah Nattrass (AUS) /Graham Biehl (USA) continue to lead the fleet winning four of the six races to date. Tied for second are Adam Roberts/David Hughes (USA) and Francisco Piccini/Sofia Tedin (ARG) with 15 points each.

Giulia Conti and Alessandra Angelini of Italy follow in fourth. Conti a two-time Olympian, commented on her skiff sailing, 'I’m the skipper and I’m not used to driving from the wire, so my legs are sore, but I’m having a lot of fun and I hope tomorrow has more wind than today.'

The final day of racing is tomorrow with the prizegiving following.
