2015 Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup – As winter hits Australia with bitterly cold weather Mariner Boating Holidays MBH) is taking people sailing on the warm waters of the Mediterranean and you could join them.

On the 28th of August to 12th September 2015, Mariner Boating Holidays will set sail on the Bonifacio Yacht Rally. Sail the stunning Costa Smerelda and the Maddalena Islands of Sardinia, French Corsica, Bonifacio, Lavezzi and Port de Cavallo and Porto Vecchio.

Timed to coincide with the 26th Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup in Porto Cervo, Rally travellers will enjoy a prime viewing position of the exciting racing as these magnificent yachts sail through the Maddalena National Park.

Organized by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (YCCS) and the International Maxi Association (IMA), the 2015 Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup will welcome an array of top class sailing talent and state-of-the-art Maxi yachts on Sardinia’s Costa Smeralda, a glamorous environment admired throughout the sailing world.

This year there are a number of high-profile yachts set to participate in the regatta for the first time, these include recent American launches Comanche and Rambler, owned by businessmen Jim Clark and George David respectively.

“Mariner Boating Holidays’ Bonifacio Yacht Rally is the pinnacle of yachting holidays,” contends Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron member Richard Lawson who participated in the Rally last year.

“It combines the relaxation of a sailing holiday on spectacular crystal clear waters, with the excitement of watching the Maxi yachts live. The setting and top-class level of competition is mesmerising and I can quite honestly say this Rally is one of the most incredible experiences of my life,” said Lawson.

The Costa Smeralda is a veritable nautical playground for even the most seasoned of sailors.

“The environment is stunning; the rock formations, the colour of the water, the wind and sea conditions, there really is nowhere as beautiful for sailing,” said Lawson.

“And on land the experience is just as rich,” Lawson continued. “We loved the fact we could enjoy two different cultures, sailing between French Corsica and Italian Sardinia. Savouring the distinctive food, wines and cultural influences each location has to offer.

“MBH’s Rally format makes travelling so easy, there’s no unpacking and repacking of suitcases, you simply pick up anchor and move location every few days. And the best part of travelling by boat is that you can explore areas unreachable by land.

“This is my top pick of where and how to sail in the world,” said Lawson.

There are Yachts and berths still available on the 2015 Bonifacio Yacht Rally and MBH are offering some great last minute prices.
