by Melges 20 on 29 May 2015
2015 Audi Melges 20 Audi-Tron Sailing Series Renato Tebaldi
The Audi Melges 20 fleet is all set and ready for racing this weekend on beautiful Lake Garda, the former stage of the 2014 Audi Melges 20 World Championship. For the first time this season, the field of forty competitors representing twelve nations anticipate three days of racing starting on Friday and ending on Sunday.

And, for the first time ever the Russian fleet is officially the largest in attendance with fourteen boats, followed by Italy with twelve. Other countries well-represented include Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Japan, Monaco, Poland, Sweden, Turkey and the United States.

With three class-sanctioned events complete in advance of Riva Del Garda, Guido Miani's Out of Reach is on top of the overall 2015 European Ranking, followed by Dario Levi on Fremito D'Arja and Agusta Corrado's Customly trailing in third. Each of these teams are no strangers to the epic conditions of Lake Garda and can be very quickly listed among those expected to do well.

Other teams that have the potential to be strong contenders include 2014 World Championship runner-up Achille Onorato aboard Mascalzone Latino Jr., former Audi Sailing Series Champion Alessandro Rombelli's STIG, Porto Venere Champion Mirko De Falco's Peccere, Pasquale Orofino's Raffica, European Fleet President Manfredi Vianini Tolomei's Maolca and Valentin Zavadnikov's Synergy GT.

Act Three of the 2015 Audi-Tron Sailing Series is hosted by Fraglia Vela Riva and organized by B.Plan Sport and Events (BPSE) in cooperation with Melges Europe.
