Yacht & Boat Korea, to be held 2 to 5 May 2013, is preparing to welcome local and international exhibitors for next year’s event.

Coming in to its seventh edition, Yacht & Boat Korea is hosted by Gyeongnam Province which is in the scenic South close to Busan – South Korea’s largest metropolitan centre after the capital, Seoul, and the country’s largest port city.

The main venue is the magnificent Changwon Exhibition and Convention Center, with its state of the art facilities and 7,827m² of exhibition space.

Gyeongnam Province has committed substantial support to the event, recognising its role in developing the local marine industry and encouraging recreational boating.

According to organisers, GnA International, the show offers a balance of consumer and trade and is strongly supported by the South Korean recreational and light commercial marine industry. In 2013, there will be a B2B component, involving networking opportunities, seminars and forums featuring internationally respected industry proponents.

In 2012, 83,243 visited the show area in Jinhaeroo while the on-water section attracted around 10,000 visitors during the four-day event.

'Get on the Water' educational activities resulted in more than 6,000 participants.

Business to Business meetings resulted in contracts valued at US$60,647,213 being negotiated.

To date contracts signed are valued at US$25,875,392, while many negotiations are continuing.

Sung-Young Lee President and CEO of Blue Marine based in Busan said they were looking forward to next year’s show following pleasing results generated at Yacht & Boat Korea 2012.

From Victoria, Australia, Chris Tucker Marine Design said he exhibited at Yacht & Boat Korea 2012, with the aim of expanding into new markets. 'With this goal in mind the show looks to have been very successful with new potential clients coming not only from visitors to the show but also other exhibitors, both Korean and International,' he said.
