18ft Skiff International Regatta final day

by Simon Brown on 29 Aug 2011
International 18ft skiff series, San Francisco Rich Roberts http://www.UnderTheSunPhotos.com
The 18ft Skiff International Regatta has resulted in Howie Hamlin and his fine team of Matt Noble (sheet) and Paul Allen (bow) toughing it out in Heat 10 to win the event.

Going into the final heat 10 on San Fran Bay yesterday, Howie (CST Composites) 14 points, held a one point lead over the two Aussie skiffs (Yandoo and Thurlow Fisher Lawyers) on 15 points. Any one of the three boats could win this Heat, but all Howie needed to do was not finish worse than second......it was all to play for and the wind was freshening.

Brad Petot had a win also as the first drawn daily winner from the Jacket Pocket for the Velocitek Pro Start, Sailing Bits Pick the Speed Competition. Check out the clip and for the whole race go to www.18footerstv.com.
