At the recent industry based Marine 17 Conference held in Sydney’s new convention centre at Darling Harbour, the team at White Bay 6 Marine Park were very proud to win a 2017 Marina Industries Association Marina of the Year Award.

Held just before Sydney International Boat Show, the Marine 17 Conference brought together companies and people from all over Australia and the world to discuss best practice, new technologies and modern business practice.

The conference and the awards are hosted by the Marina Industry Association who are the peak industry body for the marina industries in Australia, Asia and the South Pacific regions. White Bay 6 Marine Park / Sydney Harbour Boat Storage won the category of ‘Boat Yard – Under 20 Boats’ and was announced as a finalist in the ‘Dry Stack Storage Facility’ Award. Our customer service manager Ludovica ‘Elle’ Perna, was announced as a finalist in the ‘Marina Employee of the Year’ award.

White Bay 6 prides itself on being an environmentally aware business and as part of the local community and the wider working harbour, is proactive in best practice work processes to minimise the impact on the environment. As part of the ongoing process White Bay 6 has just been accredited as an ‘International Clean Marina’.

Jeremy Rose, General Manager of White Bay 6 commented, “It is very rewarding to be working with a team and business who are environmentally conscious and so focused on positive outcomes for our customers and the local community. This has enabled us to develop a modern business culture that we see as a benchmark for the wider marine business market.”

Executive Officer of the Marina Industries Association Colin Bransgrove said White Bay 6 Marine Park is to be congratulated on its strong commitment to environmental management. “The independent auditor commented on the use of highly efficient modern environmental technologies and the plans and procedures to ensure on-site boat owners and contractors are aware of and abide by best environmental practices.”

The International Clean Marina Program is an international, voluntary accreditation system for marinas, yacht clubs, boat clubs, slipways, boatyards and associated industry operators. The goal of the Clean Marina Program is to reduce ‘non-point source pollution’ associated with boating/marina facilities, and to promote clean water, clean air and thriving marina industry businesses.
