We're open for business in the Whitsundays

Our team and their families are well and greatly appreciate your kind words.

Today marks one week since the super storm passed over the Whitsunday coast and the resilience and spirit of the boating and Whitsunday community has been incredible. Despite no power, water and limited communications the recovery effort has commenced in full and huge progress is being made throughout the marina precinct. Repair work is underway, the recovery plan is in action, operators are back running and we are well and truly open for business!

All forward bookings for the upcoming cruising season will be honoured and we are looking forward to welcoming you back to the marina and the beautiful Whitsundays.

The restoration plan is underway…

As we mark one week since Tropical Cyclone Debbie hit land across the Whitsunday coast, the mood is largely positive and both the marina and Airlie Beach are a hive of activity. The sound of generators buzzing, workmates laughing and boats moving in and out of the marina is testament to the resilience of the Whitsunday region.

For the marina, whilst we suffered damage to our on-water operations, the restoration plan is well underway. Teams are working around the clock to relocate vessels, restore power to berths & fuel services, enable access to pontoons, as well as staying in touch with our customers, tenants and operators to assist them in any way we can.

Whitsundays is open for business!

Within a matter of days and without power and water the Whitsunday community has got back to business. The message spread across social media and online, that normal operations have resumed for many local businesses and the sun is peaking through the clouds, so we are ready to welcome back visitors to the region.

Many of the development projects underway at the marina may have suffered delays, however they will all proceed as scheduled and are expected to be finalised in time for our winter season. Our commitment to providing first-class facilities and customer service remains our focus and the development plan for the marina precinct remains on track.

Boaties step up to help out with the clean-up

In true boating community style we have been inundated with offers of assistance from across the country. Industry partners, customers, suppliers and operators have stepped up to assist with getting the recovery plan into action. Our marine service tenants in the marina precinct were back on deck the day after the cyclone to assist any customers in the region who needed immediate vessel repairs.

Furthermore, a team of marine industry professionals coordinated by the BIA (Boating Industry Association) arrived in region yesterday to assist their members with the clean-up effort.
