The eighth event scheduled on the Melges 20 World Series Ranking is now complete with a huge round of congratulations for Wilma Homann and her full Corinthian team sailing Fantastichina. They are 2016 Melges 20 German Open Champions!

Finishing in second overall, fellow German rival and female helm Theresa Mayer helming Starnberg Star, followed by the Austrian team of Klaus Shoeber on AUT-159 came third.

Eight sanctioned, World Series Ranking events are now complete bringing the total to 79 participating international teams. Overall the ranking remains unchanged with Matteo Marenghi Vaselli aboard Raya in first, Guido Miani's Out of Reach holding firm in second and Richard Davies' Section 16 rounding out the top three podium positions.

In the Corinthian division, most especially thanks to her German Open win this past weekend, Homann is now the new Corinthian World Series Ranking leader, surpassing John Brown's Blind Squirrel.

All eyes now turn to the stunningly beautiful Riva Del Garda in Italy for the fourth act of the Sailing Series® Melges 20 taking place on July 1-3. Lake Garda is one of the most appreciated race courses in the world, and it is ready to host a record breaking event with more than 50 teams registered.
