New York to Vendée Race – Alex Thomson completes podium

Alex Thomson (Hugo Boss), has finished third in the inaugural 2016 New York – Vendée (Les Sables d’Olonne) Race presented by Currency House and SpaceCode.

The British skipper, Alex Thomson (Hugo Boss), crossed the finish line off Les Sables d’Olonne this afternoon at 18:43:33 (French time). Thomson covered the course in nine days 21 hrs 03 mins and 33 seconds. He finished four hours and 41 minutes behind the winner, Jérémie Beyou, (Maître CoQ).

Thomson sailed 3453 miles at an average speed of 14.57 knots.
Note: the theoretical race course was 3,100 miles.
