13ft Skiffs - Northside Sailing School continues to dominate

by Annette Brennan on 7 Jan 2010
All girl crew on Northside Airconditioning - 5th 13ft skiff Australian Championships Annette Brennan

Middle Harbour skiff Northside Sailing School skippered by Scott Cotton from Middle Harbour 16ft Skiff Club continues to dominate the series with their fourth heat win today but only winning by 21 seconds.

Sailed in a weakening southerly of about 9-12 knots Scott and forward hand Rob Size showed clearly superior sailing skills among the 22 strong fleet of skiffs.

Their closest rival MBH II skipperd by Olivia Price who won yesterday came second with all girl crew Northside Airconditioning skippered by Fiona Walker and forward hand Lizzi Rountree taking third place.Today's heat saw the first recall of the series.

To date everyone had been well behaved at the starts, however today's indiscretion at the start only affected one skiff.

With two heats to go Friday and Saturday, Sydney boats have shown great prowess in this series.
