Yachting Australia is giving sailing enthusiasts and beginners the opportunity to spend the Holiday season in the high seas and learn the fundamentals of sailing as part of its Discover Sailing Experience program, which is one of many activities lined up for this Holiday season.

One of these activities is the Discover Sailing Experience, available at Accredited Discover Sailing Clubs or Centre’s; it’s a fun three-hour sail without the technical elements of a course, making it an ideal activity for people who’ve always wanted to get out on the water and enjoy a fun day out sailing with family and friends.

This unique sailing experience is delivered, for a minimal fee, by qualified Yachting Australia Instructors, who accompany participants on their sail, answering questions and ensuring their safety. It’s geared towards those who have never been sailing and want to ‘test the waters’ first before enrolling in a course.

Ross Kilborn, Sport Development Director, Yachting Australia said, 'The Discover Sailing Experience is a new sailing opportunity that doesn’t require you to be a member of a club. It’s for newcomers who would like to give sailing a go and find out more. If you enjoy it you may want to do it again or progress to enrolling for a course.'

'Clubs and centre’s provide all the equipment such as safety gear and boats. People of all ages, and abilities can participate in a Discover Sailing Experience. Bookings can be made as an individual or for a group or even as a Christmas gift for that aspiring sailor you know. It’s the perfect kick start to sailing,' Kilborn said.

For further information on a Discover Sailing Experience visit Discover Sailing Experience or contact your local Accredited Discover Sailing Centre.
