ICS spread of business with only ten employees SW
A world-wide specialist marine electronics company with only ten employees and based in West Sussex in the UK has won multiple awards including 'Best of the Best' at British Engineering Excellence Awards 2011, proving again that you don't have to be big to be excellent.
The Judges found ICS Electronics Limited’s entry 'deeply impressive'. One said: 'I couldn’t believe that such an influential company has only 10 full time employees.' And all Judges agreed that, while influencing legislation is tough for a small company, ICS has developed a product with global reach.
The company has been awarded Grand Prix Winner 'Best of the Best' as well as 'Best Small Company of the Year' at the 2011 British Engineering Excellence Awards (BEEA), ousting much bigger companies for the top award.
The BEEA are designed to recognise and promote the quality of engineering design within the UK, enabling smaller companies to compete on an even platform with larger ones. This year’s event was held on the 13th October at the London Globe Theatre, and over 50 UK companies were shortlisted to receive an award.
ICS's Managing Director, Kevin Page, said 'I was genuinely surprised to have won today as prestigious industry awards frequently overlook small UK businesses. BEEA must be highly commended for adopting a judging structure that is all inclusive. One of the benefits of small companies, for example, is that I was able to personally thank every member of staff for their part in these highly deserved awards'
