The Grey Knights of Sailing

Rolex Trophy Series 2011 SW
This past weekend saw Sydney Harbour host the jousting of sailing's new 'Grey Knights', our well known racers who are competing in the Rolex Trophy Series but are now sporting their new armour, the distinctive grey of North Sails latest 3Di product. These grey sails mounted above their contrasting hulls, added a new dimension to the atmosphere and challenge of racing.
A closely contested battle in the highly competitive Division 0 was distinguished by every boat utilising North’s
3Di to maximise their performance.
Wild Oats XI, making preparations for the upcoming battle to Hobart, stood out in dramatic fashion during much of the weekend with her massive new 3Di main towering over the harbour.
Take a rest Huey! From now on North Sails can provide all the grey we need on the harbour while you concentrate on sending down some much needed sunshine and good north east breeze.
In the Passage Series, Andrew Kiernan’s Summit 35 L’altra Donna won on IRC with a full inventory of North 3Di sails, over the highly competitive IRC racer Victoire. And finally, Jason Van Der Slot’s TP52 Calm took the honours on ORCi, racing with a full new inventory of North's 3Di sails.
