The Superyacht Australia Committee will get together for its annual mid-year meeting, Monday 19 May, prior to the Australian Superyacht and Marine Export Conference at the Intercontinental Sanctuary Cove.

With strong representation from key industry stakeholders in all facets of the Australian Superyacht sector, the committee will meet to discuss a broad range of issues currently affecting the industry in Australia and the direction for marketing activities in the 2014/5 year.

Chaired by Barry Jenkins, the Superyacht Australia committee comprises of one representative from each of the three regional clusters; Mike Cippitelli Chairman Marine WA, Byron Rabone Chairman Superyachts Queensland and Richard Morris Executive Director NSW Superyacht Industry Association. In addition to cluster representatives a number of Superyacht Australia corporate members are on the committee to ensure broad representation of the superyacht industry. These representatives include Matthew Reaume MTU, Doug Jarvis City of Melbourne, Denis Maher BSE, Kane Bygrave Aurora Global Logistics, Deale Stanley-Hunt Awlgrip and Murray Owen, MD of Marine Engineering Consultants.

Superyacht Australia has seen an excellent increase in membership so far this year. It also took part in a successful trade mission to major boat builders in Antalya and Istanbul on 26th February, followed by the Dubai show from 4th March. It had a strong presence at the Singapore yacht show last month, where it hosted an evening networking event and the Captain’s lounge throughout the show.

Superyacht Australia will also have stands at the Monaco and Ft Lauderdale shows.

The Superyacht Committee will be in attendance at the ASMEX conference which has cemented its position on the global industry events calendar.

With a strong programme of speakers, strong sponsorship support with some key brand names involved and the 2014 Australian Superyacht and Marine Export Awards gala dinner, expected to attract close to 200 delegates, makes this a very prestigious and significant industry event.
