Organisers of the 2013 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS) have extended a special invitation to exhibitors who attended the inaugural event in 1989, as part of the show’s quarter century celebrations.
The SCIBS team will invite the exhibitors who helped launch the show 25 years ago as they reflect on its evolution from a regional exhibition to a highlight on the international marine events calendar.
Mulpha Sanctuary Cove sales, sponsorship and events manager Johan Hasser said original SCIBS exhibitors would feature in the special 25 year celebrations planned for this year’s show, to be held from May 23 to 26.
'We are very excited to welcome the same exhibitors who were at the show in 1988 to attend this year, who have come a long way in that time, as we have,' said Mr Hasser.
'This year will be a celebration of reaching a very significant milestone and we are so pleased to be able to invite the same exhibitors back who helped shape the Boat Show into what it is today.'
Australian Yacht Winch Co has been at SCIBS since day one and will return this year, marking their 25th year at the show.
Manager John Coupland said his company attended the largest boat shows across the country but Sanctuary Cove consistently yielded the best results.
'We keep coming back because it’s a great source of new business and it’s the best way to put our products directly in front of our target market year after year,' he said.
'There are probably more interstate visitors at Sanctuary Cove than the other boat shows, which is great for generating new business.
'Like many of the other long-time exhibitors, we also see a lot of repeat business through SCIBS, so we always exhibit in the same spot so our customers know where to find us.'
Mr Coupland’s company will release new models of sheet winches exclusively at this year’s show, and for the first time will showcase products from Swedish deck hardware manufacturer Rutgerson.
More than 200 other exhibitors have already signed up to display at this year’s Boat Show, including Princess Yachts, Garmin and Horizon Motor Yachts.
Cumberland Charter Yachts was the first exhibitor to snap up space, the same they’ve held for more than a decade.
The 2013 Boat Show will showcase a raft of international boating brands, products and technologies on display alongside the superb backdrop of the award-winning Sanctuary Cove marina and The Marine Village.
Offering something for the whole family, SCIBS will also feature a full program of live entertainment, fashion parades, cooking demonstrations, seminars and safety talks as well as a fantastic kids marine zone and Women on Water program throughout the four-day event.
