RYA Dinghy Show opens its doors this weekend!

Alexandra Palace in London will be packed to the rafters with all things dinghy this weekend (02-03 March) when the RYA Dinghy Show, in association with Yachts and Yachting and Suzuki, opens its doors for 2013.

The halls will be busting at the seams with some 170 exhibitors showcasing everything from the latest boat designs to timeless classics, all the latest kit and gadgets, books and boating essentials.

You’ll get the chance to speak to representatives from a whole host of clubs and classes, get up close and personal with some of dinghy sailings finest including London 2012 Paralympic gold medallist Helena Lucas and Olympic silver medallists Luke Patience and hear from some of dinghy sailings leading coaches and experts in the Coaching area and on the Main Stage. Throughout the weekend we will also be announcing a whole host of winners. We’ll be unveiling the winner of the coveted RYA Club of the Year award, announcing the winner of the RS Design a Sail competition and presenting the virtual Endeavour Trophy to the winner of the RYA Dinghy Show SailX Championship 2013.

Heading around the show there are loads of great activities for visitors to enjoy. Younger visitors can enjoy the ever popular Pirate Treasure Hunt and if they come to the show in Pirate Fancy dress they could also find themselves winning a prize for the best dressed pirate! Test your knot tying skills at the Knot Wall Challenge, get competitive on the water at the model boat pool or build your own racing boat at the Holt Blow Boat Challenge. You can also practice your trapezing skills under the watchful eye of the experts at the new Magic Marine Trapezing Rig, built exclusively for the RYA Dinghy Show 2013.

So whether you’re a complete beginner looking to get started or a seasoned pro wanting to pick up some top tips to further improve your skills then make sure you make a visit to the show this weekend.

America's Cup Defender christened "Taihoro"
