It’s official! Marvin Beckmann and his team on board The Martian have taken out the 2013 Etchells world championship in Rosignano Solvay, Tuscany, Italy.
Geared up with the latest North Sails designs, Marvin and his team outperformed the fleet to finish with a 12 point lead. Being well and truly on top of their sail and rig set up through the wind range they had a clear speed advantage finishing in the top three in half the races and only once outside the top ten.
Marvin’s win makes it the seventh consecutive Etchells world title win for North Sails. This outstanding achievement is due to the relentless development, design and testing program which the team at North Sails work together globally on to create its range of high performance Etchells sails.
North Sails will continue to service and support the fleet in Australia and is excited about its continued sail develop and introduction of the new FLR Radial Jib.
