US Sailing announced that Karma Yacht Sales Co-Owner/Co-Founder Lou Sandoval will present the keynote speech at the US Sailing National Conference on October 24, 2014. His presentation - 'Non-Conventional Pathways to the Sport of Sailing' - takes a look at the next generation of sailors and how recreational sailors can prepare to be the ambassadors of change for boating in their local areas.
The conference runs from October 23-25, 2014 at the Hilton Milwaukee City Center. The conference expects to host over attendees from around North America.
US Sailing’s Executive Director Jack Gierhart said, 'We are very excited to have Lou speak. He is a passionate sailor and tireless professional. He possesses a unique perspective with experience that is critical to the future of sailing. Lou has been a strong supporter of youth sailing, promotes diversity and accessibility, and is responsible for developing collaborative and creative programs to grow awareness and participation. We look forward to learning from him in Milwaukee.'
'It is an honor to address the US Sailing Membership' said Lou Sandoval 'their continued leadership in creating tomorrow’s sailing leaders is critical to the continued growth and expansion of the sport'.
Mr. Sandoval brings a non-traditional perspective to participating in the sport of sailing. He serves on several industry wide board and committees that are proactively addressing the growth of boating. Having been exposed to the sport in his youth, Lou really came to love the sport as an adult. He has been recognized for his service on many on-the-water committees including the Chicago Yacht Club - Race to Mackinac and the Board of Directors of Chicago Yacht Club. He was recently nominated for Rear Commodore at Chicago Yacht Club with a term to commence in January of 2015.
