Nobody is better credentialed than Ita when it comes to surmounting the obstacles and challenges of working in a traditionally male domain, always with intelligence, creativity, courtesy and a smile.
Twice voted Australia’s most admired woman, Ita Buttrose has led in many different areas of endeavours: as a businesswoman, journalist, author, advisor to corporate, community and welfare organisations and as a company director.
A successful career woman and mother, she pioneered the way for many women and, through the magazines and newspapers she has edited, has driven and influenced public opinion. She has never been shy of controversy or confronting difficult issues.
Ita is the special guest speaker at this year’s Ladies’ Boat Show Lunch, part of the extensive ‘Women on Water’ program at Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, 24-27 May.
This invitation-only event, organised and presented by the boat show team, will be held at the Hyatt Regency Sanctuary Cove, Friday 25 May, with MC the Seven Network’s Kimberley Busteed.
The 2012 ‘Women on Water’ program will include Cooking On Board Your Boat sessions hosted by Seven’s culinary expert, Sally Jenyns, fashion parades in the Piazza, skipper training and the popular 'High Tea on the High Seas' cruises.
Ladies, leave your blokes at the boat show and enjoy a scenic sojourn with fun, frivolity and plenty of pampering. Gather your gal pals and embark on the 'The Lady', the ravishingly retro little function boat, fabulously fitted out by Boat Style for these two special cruises, Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 May.
You are invited to don your finest and enjoy champagne and canapés served with the pleasant backdrop of the Coomera River and the magnificent motor yachts and sailing craft on display at this year’s event.
During the two hour cruise, there will be presentations of fashion, décor, fine jewellery and other lifestyle essentials, plus pampering sessions onboard thanks to Champions Hair, Beauty & Day Spa. Added to that, each guest will receive a gift bag with samples and VIP offers.
Make it a date for you and your crew. Saturday 26 and Sunday 27, $75 per person including entry to the boat show. Numbers are limited, so book now. To register, email boatshow@sanctuarycove.com
