GME has announced its sponsorship of Team Ragamuffin in upcoming iconic races of the Australian yacht racing season.

Brad Darch, Marine Marketing Manager at GME says that GME welcomes the opportunity to partner with Team Ragamuffin.

'We are delighted to be associated with Team Ragamuffin. The team’s culture epitomises the ‘high performance in extreme conditions’ philosophy that is held by GME and engineered into all of our products from EPIRBs and PLBs through to communications equipment.'

The new sponsorship arrangement will see GME livery emblazoned on the hull of the 100ft 'super maxi' Ragamuffin 100, tipped as a potential line honours winner of this year’s Sydney to Hobart event, as well as the hull of Ragamuffin 52, an outright contender in the 2014 Pittwater to Coffs Harbour event.

David Witt, Sailing Master on-board Team Ragamuffin said 'The Rolex Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race is one of the most challenging ocean races in world, in particular crossing the notorious Bass Strait. Collaborating with GME provides peace of mind for family and crew as Team Ragamuffin are equipped with the latest technology in Personal Locator Beacons (PLBs).'

Team Ragamuffin crew members will each carry market leading GPS equipped GME MT410G Personal Locator Beacons whilst competing, ensuring their rapid location should there be a Man Over-board emergency during competition.
