AIMEX drives initiative to open opportunities for exporters in the US

by AIMEX on 16 Jul 2013
Chip Farnham - Imtra US AIMEX
AIMEX has announced they have obtained NSW government support to invite a key US distributor to Sydney during the Sydney International Boat Show.

The key focus for this invitation is to provide companies in the equipment manufacturing sector with a better understanding of the American market and the opportunities that exist for Australian product within this market.

With the US marine sector starting to pick up and the Australia dollar now at its lowest for some time Australian products are now back in the frame for US boat builders and distributors.

AIMEX CEO MaryAnne Edwards said 'We are continuing to drive opportunities in this market. With the Australian dollar currently more competitive we are noticing an increase in enquiries coming from the US. A focus for AIMEX is to develop opportunities and relationships so that equipment manufacturers can showcase their products to key US marine industry suppliers. The key for many Australian businesses is understanding the American supply chain and distribution network.'

AIMEX has invited Chip Farnham from Imtra USA. Imtra Corporation is a leader in marine systems, and is a reliable supplier to builders, repair yards, retailers, naval architects, as well as private yacht and vessel owners.

Farnham will be meeting with AIMEX members and visiting the Sydney International Boat Show to look for new products to add to their portfolio. Farnham said 'It is fantastic that I have been given this opportunity to personally visit Australia, normally we rely on visiting US shows to see what is on offer by way of new and innovative products. To be able to see firsthand what is new and exciting in Australia makes it far more likely we will look to take on more products from this country. We already distribute Muir Winches and being able to add other Australian products would be valuable'

AIMEX continues their drive to promote Australian capability globally and will have a strong Australia presence at Monaco & Fort Lauderdale Yacht shows and METS.
